It should have been a one-night stand. I never intended to seduce Taushen, but things happened. I don't dwell on the past and while it was great, I'm not looking for a relationship. Of course, try telling that to Taushen. The big blue alien's in love after one night, and it's making things darn awkward. We've got bigger problems than whether or not I'm his woman, like the "cargo" of the space ship that landed here. But Taushen's not giving up. He thinks I'm his mate. And he'll do anything to show more keep me. Contains mature themes. show lessTags

I am really torn on what to rate this one.... I love the IPB series.... I love the hero! Not caring so much for the heroine... she was very annoying... I did appreciate her honesty about herself. She was trying to find a place to fit in and that can be very hard when you think you have nothing to contribute. She was no virgin.... just a modern girl...? Really? Do modern girls really sleep around that much? I guess I am just too old to know the answer to that question. So she has experience and he doesn't... so to her it's just a wham, bam, thank you alien.... I really did not like that at all.
I know, I know... I am so old fashion... yeah I am...
I loved that they decided to help the 'sleeping' people. The Barbarians are really good show more 'people'. They do the right thing even if it could mean big changes to their clan and danger too. I am looking forward to more from IPB and the new series too...
So I didn't like the heroine very much...again... but I loved the hero and the story and that is why I gave it 4.o. show less

This is a decent book. Brooke was annoying sometimes, but she was usually alright. Taushen had a few moments of acting like an idiot, but was really sweet. I'm glad there were full chapters showing what happened to Brooke and Taushen in the last book, and not just quick flashbacks. I liked that this book had them grow together before they became a couple. And I liked the Icehome series setup. My first Ruby Dixon book ever was Lauren's Barbarian and it was a lot of fun seeing how it all began.
Taushen and Brooke.
This book carries on from the previous one, we now see the events from the landing of 'The Tranquil Lady' and those who were captured.
Some things were hinted at in the previous book and in this one they are revealed.
I struggled a bit to connect with Brooke. Taushen is amazing.
The end part of the book we catch up with some of the tribe and find out about some from the pods. The pods have opened up a lot of questions and new possibilities.

I like Taushen, but B-Brooke leaves a lot to be desired.
A pretty good entry into the series.
