NCIS special agent Linus Schag is called in to investigate an old friend, Bill Butcher, who is accused of murder.
Bill was investigating a large amount of cash that had simply vanished during shipment from Iraq. The investigation was pulled from above but Bill had become obsessed with the missing money and continued the investigation privately. And now someone wants him dead!

Butcher is being pursued by the law plus a group of mercenaries and amidst a sea of lies and treachery the only person he can trust is Linus Schag.

Schag is like a dog with a bone, once he gets onto something he won’t let go. He believes in playing by the rules, bending them occasionally to get the answers he needs.

Hill includes real world events which gives the story an element of realism. He touches on topics of PTSD and anti-malaria drug induced psychosis and cover ups by pharmaceutical companies.

The Butcher’s Bill is a fast paced, action packed mystery thriller filled with intrigue, espionage, corruption, money laundering, kidnapping and greed at the highest level.

I also enjoyed the little snippets of humour interlaced throughout this intense thriller.

I received an ARC from the author. ( )
