In HEARTS at SEASIDE...
Jenna Ward is vivacious, spontaneous, and confident—except when she's around the man who stole her heart years earlier, strikingly handsome, quiet, and reliable Pete Lacroux. After years of trying to get his attention and overwhelmed from dealing with her mother's new cougar lifestyle, Jenna's giving up on Peter—and is ready to explore other men.

As the eldest of five siblings, with an alcoholic father to care for, boat craftsman Pete Lacroux always does the right thing and has no time for a real relationship. He's looking forward to seeing his friend Jenna, a welcome distraction who's so sexy and painfully shy that she equally entertains and confuses him.

When Jenna picks up a hard-bodied construction worker, jealousy ignites Pete's true feelings, and he's unable to ignore the desires for Jenna he never realized he had. But Pete's not the quiet guy he appears to be, and his life is anything but conducive to a relationship. Can Jenna handle the real Pete Lacroux—the most alpha male she's ever seen—or will she crack under pressure? And can Pete reclaim the life he once had without tearing apart his family?

Jenna & Pete have known each other for several years. Jenna summers at the beach & Pete does repairs & takes care of the pool at her complex. He agreed to the job when he was just starting out & has really outgrown the job but keeps it so he can see Jenna. The chemistry between them is intense but he's afraid he'll scare her off & be too intense for her. He just can't stand to see her with anyone else. She seems to be aggressive with other men so why is she shy & quiet with him? Could she really handle him? Could they have a relationship?

Jenna has been lusting over Pete forever. Her attraction is so intense she goes mute or stumbles over her words with him. He doesn't act like he's interested so she decides this year she's over him. No show more more pining for him. She starts going out with Chris but there's no zing. However with Pete, wowsa!

"When I was clutching him for dear life, buck naked..." She drew in a deep breath. "I didn't feel a zing." Bella was putting a chunk of cookie dough in her mouth, and she stopped with her hand in the air. "What?" "It was more of a ZING, POW, BANG!"

This story has it all! Friendship, attraction, jealousy, love, humor, sarcasm.... I could go on & on! Ms. Foster has a knack for writing series books that are good as a stand alone but are fantastic when read as the series with the added insights garnered from the other books. The girls are supportive of each other no matter what. The men learn to get along with the girls & their significant others because the men aren't coming between them. I loved the detail & humor put into the relationship between Jenna & Pete. I could see a lot of the relationship between my fiancé & I in this one. Jenna is not a stick thin model but has a curvy size. Instead of automatically having her character be a total futz, Ms. Foster has her being OCD which goes against stereotypes. This was another good read in a great series!

Hearts at Seaside (Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers) (Volume 3) Addison Cole knows what it means to be binge worthy. She takes the most beautiful moments, adds humor and an edge of heat and makes for a highly addictive series. Hearts at Seaside examines the emotions that make us human and the lessons we learn from them. How is it that Jenna, a woman fearless in spirit, loses some of her spark when a certain man crosses her path? What makes a strong personality like, Pete afraid to take a risk? Between parents in crisis, matchmaking friends and the fear of a storm called love, this group has nowhere to go but up. When an author allows a reader to forget the everyday hassle and get lost for a little while, that is something worth holding show more on to.

Audiobook Review:

No matter how many times I read Hearts at Seaside it continues to grab at my heart. Great characters, a beautiful story and a few lessons in life along the way. This time around I decided to try a little audio stimulation, to maybe experience romance in a different way. What I found is a deeper connection. Melissa Moran breathes new life into words that were already practically leaping off the page. There are also parallels between Jenna and Pete's uncertainties and the lives of their parents. Audio puts a different spin on beloved tale.

AUDIOBOOK NOTE… Melissa Moran is a newer narrator to me but I am a huge fan of Addison Cole. With Addison Cole’s words and Melissa Moran’s voice this is the perfect audiobook. I could feel the story coming to life as I listened. The characters were real and their emotions came through in the words.

Sweet with Heat is the perfect description for this book. Jenna is hooked, for many many years on Pete. Pete is hooked on Jenna for just as long. Why haven’t they got together??? Jenna gets shy around Pete leaving him to believe he just might be too much for Jenna to handle. That sentence cannot be farther from the truth. They belong together. No doubts. No questions.

I loved how Jenna went after a construction worker to make Pete show more jealous. That construction worker ended up being sweet, attentive, smart, and almost perfect for Jenna. The only problem with Charlie is that he wasn’t Pete. For anyone else he would have been the perfect man. I liked that Addison Cole did not make Charlie a hunky, brainless, boring guy. She made him a guy that would be perfect for the Seaside Girls. All of that being said, I LOVE Pete’s reaction.

Both Jenna and Pete have known each other for what seems like forever yet there are things that they still have to learn about each other. Pete’s dad is a functioning alcoholic and he has been keeping that a secret from almost everyone. Opening up about that to Jenna was a tough scene, which was handled with so much care that I had no doubt that together Jenna and Pete could find the answer to save Pete’s dad and not make it an issue in their relationship. Jenna’s mom is also a “problem” but more like an embarrassment to Jenna. Jenna is worried that her mom will show up and embarrass her in front of Pete and the Seaside crew. By the end of the story I had no worries that they could handle anything thrown at them.

While each book in this series is a standalone story, it is fun to see the characters from previous books make appearance and catch up with what is happening in their lives. The next book is Amy’s story with Tony and I can’t wait!

I'm thrilled to be reading the newest book in the Seaside Summers series by Addison Cole, I love the fact that it's the focus of the story IS the story, and not the sex. It's refreshing, and if you can't tell, I love it.

But on to the story; Jenna has loved Pete for years, but she thinks he hasn't noticed, But after her parents divorce and her mothers bizarre behavior Jenna has had enough! Enough of her mother and enough of being over looked by Pete, so rather than deal with her mother directly, she avoids her, which is not working that well. But Jenna also plans to find love, by putting aside her secret love for Pete and moving on…to one of the hunky contractors on the island.

Pete has noticed Jenna, but she is always so painfully shy show more around him, but herself with her friends. He don’t want a shy miss, he wants someone that is confident in her own skin. Then Jenna makes a date with a contractor and it drives Pete insane. But that is not the only issue that is going on in his life…his family makes life complicated from him too.

Heart at Seaside is a beautiful, well written, and heartwarming story, that makes you wish that you were Jenna, and wish Pete would sweep you off your feet! And that feeling is exactly why I'm giving it 5 stars!
