Daniel F. Galouye was an extremely creative and gifted writer of sci-fi who unfortunately died young, before he was able to really "make his mark" as a writer. Still, everything he has written is excellent. His novel, *Simulacron-3* (also called *Counterfeit World*) was the basis for the movie *The Thirteenth Floor*, and it foresaw the *Matrix* concept a good 20 years before its time. And that was not even one of his better novels. Still, I'd be hard-pressed to give him anything less than 5-stars for all of his novels. They're hard to find, but worth the search.
