I received a copy from LibraryThing for an honest review. At first, the story seemed interesting but as it neared the middle, Sophie seemed so insecure and her decision to 'save' her husband silly. It doesn't make sense that a pirate's wife would be so insecure and wouldn't relish getting revenge. The author dragged out the decision and only towards the end does she confront her 'past' with what should have been her initial decision. The characters didn't seem to be developed sufficiently.

Johnny Depp introduced the world to "cool" pirates when he played Captain Jack Sparrow in the POTC movies. I'd like to think that Captain Andre Dubois, my pirate in The Pirate's Bride, is a "cool" pirate, too. He's an Alpha male with a secret soft side. And Sophie Bellard Dubois? She's not just cool; she' "kick-a$$" cool, and won't let anyone tame her. Or will she? These two are destined to be together, and the storyline shows their journeys toward each other.

This book first appeared on the online writing site Wattpad, and won first place in the 2012 "On the Rise" category for new authors/new historical romance. It went on to get 1.4 million reads before being picked up by Literary Wanderlust Publishing. I hope you become one of the show more next million readers to enjoy this high seas tale of romance and adventure. show less
I was asked to review this by Librarything.com

This sequel had it all, romance, steaminess, fun, Christmas (even though I read this in October), swashbuckling pirates and the odd tear along the way.

This is the sequel to "The Pirates Bride" although the reader does not have to have read this -it does aid the reader with the characters.

It is sometime since we read about the main characters -Sophie and Andre who are very much in love, after a somewhat complicated relationship- readers they are now married.

Christmas is fast approaching and it looks like they will spend the festive period on the "Jade Princess" but Sophie wants to spend this on land rather than at sea- the reasons are apparent at the end of the story.

A lovely gentle read show more with a bit of history thrown into the mix.

An ideal stocking filler when you just want something light to read over the Christmas break, with a Gingerbread latte and Christmas pyjamas.

Thank you Librarything and Cathy Skendrovich for letting me review this book.

One of the worst novella I have ever read. I had to drag myself to read as the book could not grasp my interest. It was a nice plot but no portion of it was well written. Frankly a waste of time completed only due to the review. Please do not bother reading it. Cathy, am sorry.
