Note: I received an F&G of this book at an ALA conference. ( )

I think this would be a good book for early readers, maybe in preschool or kindergarten. Each sentence in the book started with "I see..." and they were all very simple sentences of what the dog saw while he was waiting for the boy to come home and take him outside. I don't think this would be a good book for older students because it is very simple and I think they would get bored of it.

Primary. This book is in the perspective of a dog that is looking out the window and the other animals he sees outside. It has very basic sentences and vocabulary so it would be good for beginning readers.

This book describes a dog perfectly. They look out the window, bark, see a squirrel and go crazy. My dog too.

This was a great beginning reader because it's easy with a lot of repetition, but it still tells a story. It's about a dog and what it sees and does while it's owner is away. This would be the perfect book for children who are starting to independently read.
