This novel is filled with great sorrow and beautiful joy. It will stir up deep emotions of sadness and American pride. I highly recommend it. I am so glad I chose to allow myself to be uncomfortable. This book allowed me to honor all who were personally affected by really Remembering 9/11.
I’ve wanted to read this series for some time, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to relive the events of 9/11 until now as our country remembers 9/11, 18 years later.
One Tuesday Morning brought me back to that terrible day instantly. My heart was burdened with the reality of what we, Americans, suffered that horrible day. I actually had a hard time sleeping as I read the characters thoughts and feelings as the events of 9/11 unfolded. Kingsbury did show more a phenomenal job depicting real feelings that loved ones suffered while trying to make sense of the unimaginable and senseless acts that changed their lives forever. I love how she illustrated God's goodness in the midst of tragedy. I enjoyed the characters and their journeys of coming to terms with life after 9/11. I look forward to seeing what will become of the characters in the sequel. show less

I really liked this book. It was an emotional roll coaster. I felt for each of the people in this story. I liked that 9/11 was not the forefront of the story, but it was about the love of God and these two couples. I felt that there was more to the story at the end. It was nice to know that there are 2 more books after. I want to know how Eric and his wife heal. I want more about Clay. I want more about Jaime!!!!!
The book captured my attention in the beginning, but the middle slowed down. Had to finally push myself to finish it.....and oh my!! I have never read a book that had me crying for the final 30 pages! Extremely emotional! Heavy on the religion.....but what a story!
I appreciate this genre and applaud the author for writing novels that incorporate God and religion while leaving out gratuitous sex and foul language. However, I found this novel to be a poorly written sappy piece of drivel. After reading the first 2 chapters and the back cover, it was 100% apparent that the two men would be mistaken for each other, and that Jamie and Eric would find their faith again by the end of the book. My "favorite" writing was when Eric's co-worker tells him early in the book that she just found out the day before that her husband is filing for divorce and his reply is "You'll find someone else." What???!! WHO would say that?! This novel also relied on every typical stereotype out there-the dedicated firefighter show more family man, the emotionally distant executive, the doubt about marrying the wrong brother, etc. This book is nothing more than a Danielle Steel novel written in a Christian Fiction vein. show less
This book had me hooked form the first paragraph. The story of loss, redemption and love set around 9/11. At times it was heart renching but so well crafted. The characters and situations were believable that I felt I knew them. Must be read with a box of tissues!!
This story about two men caught in the maelstrom of the South Tower in the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001 gives pause for thought about what is really important in life, and how even terrible events can be used by God to work positive outcomes in individual lives.
sensitive but deep understanding from the persepective of the families of 9/11. Was drawn into the characters and the emotions. started it one evening and had to finish it the next day.
