First Impressions
Logan and Tate get their continued story in this installment and in this one it picks up where book 4 left off. Tate's sister has reached out to him and is looking for healing and forgiveness. We see Tate having to show more face up to the demons of the past and Logan coming to a realization that he wants a permanent solution to their relationship and embracing a status he never thought he wanted it but Tate makes him want it more than ever.
First Line
It was strange how a life could change in the blink of an eye.
The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Tate
The Hero: Logan
What I Loved
Seeing Logan and Tate overcome some conflict in and out of their relationship was really intriguing for me. And I am loving the chemistry that we are seeing between Robbie and Priest and even though I have heard mixed things about their story, I am really intrigued by it. Logan and Tate are both having to face some painful growths in this story. I think what I enjoyed was the emotional battles in this one. Seeing them reconnect with Tate's sister and her kids was the highlight of the story for me. The conflict that we see them truly battle on a deeper emotional level is when Logan decides he wants to marry Tate....but Tate isn't as welcoming about it as Logan about it and seriously this portion of the story really broke my heart especially for Logan and I had mixed feelings on how this was handled. But I see why the author chose to add this conflict in the story and now I am intrigued by how it ended.
What I Struggled With
There was one factor that I really battled with on this one and it was seeing how the conflict of them was worked through. I will be honest it was very anticlimatic and I wasn't a fan on how Tate treated Logan through it or how Logan just dismissed it even though it was causing him much more pain than he was admitting to. And I don't think I have ever seen what we see in this book EVER happen in a romance before so it did throw me off cause I definitely wasn't expecting it. I just wish how it was resolved was more satisfying.
Overall View
Tate was a emotionally triggering installment that digs deep into unresolved issues for our pair and seeing them work through those issues while capture the depth of the heart that resides between this couple......kept me on my toes!
