This book was very funny and I laughed while I read it. The book was good and I noticed that it is a great book for read alouds. First, the text features set the tone of the book. While you're reading the book, the different text fonts, punctuation, and font sizes show the reader how the book should be read and it also lets the reader know how the characters in the story feel and how the author wanted to story to be written. For example, the characters in the story call out the main characters name. The author wrote his name in all capital, bold, colored letters"FRROOGGYY!" at the top of the page. This indicates that the reader should yell out his name and drag it since it's written with multiple repeating letters. Second, the show more illustrations were catchy. The author used bold colors such as red, blue, and yellow. For example, when the family is out to eat at the restaurant to eat, the author illustrated the whole background with the color red. It really made you feel like you were in the restaurant. I think the overall message of this book is manners really count. The story shows how manners are important to remember especially in a fancy restaurant. show less
This is great picture book that shows the struggle that some younger children have when it comes to behaving when you are out to eat. Froggy’s parents are celebrating their own anniversary and wanted to go out for dinner as a family. Froggy can’t sit still and ends up making a mess at the dinner table. This story uses a lot of onomatopoeia in the dialogue.
This book was a good book. There were a lot of sound effects they wanted you to make and it might be a bit hard for younger kids. Feel like it would be a great storytime book with all the noises you can make them fun. This book was about how froggy and his parents were going out to a fancy dinner and they had to get all dressed up. Froggy was not behaving at the restaurant and ended up spilling this food. They ended up going to get fast food instead of their fancy dinner and they seemed to enjoy that.
Froggy is back in an all new mealtime adventure! This time, Froggy just can't seem to get things right when he & his family go out for his parent's anniversary. What happens when Froggy's parents have had enough of his antics? A great story that will teach little ones a lesson or two. =)

Froggy eats out was an interesting children’s book to read. I enjoyed the illustrations occurring throughout the story. They were very detailed and on each page, it described what the text was telling. This gives the reader a better understanding for what the author is trying to say. For example, each illustration is thorough and keeps the reader interested. The main idea of the children’s book is manners and what is correct and incorrect about them. Last, the texts features set the readers attention for the book. The different text fonts, sizes, and the punctuation used throughout the story allows the readers to get excited and interested by what it brings to the eye. It is Froggy’s parent’s anniversary and he is getting dressed up and ready to go out to eat at a fancy restaurant. Froggy’s mother told him to behave himself while at the restaurant, but Froggy just couldn’t help himself and made quite a racket. After being embarrassed by his actions Froggy’s parents decide to go to a simple place where they could really enjoy themselves.
I enjoyed reading this book mainly because I thought the illustrations were very interesting. It was a funny book and the illustrations really made it more fun to read.
In the classroom, I would teach a lesson over restaurant etiquette. We would talk about the things that Froggy did that was not appropriate, and I would have the kids explain ways on how to show more act in a restaurant. Also, we will practice good manners and the act the proper way when at the dinner table during snack time. show less

For some 20 years before he penned his first children's book, London was writing poetry and short stories for adults. In the early 1970s, he was reading his poems in San Francisco jazz clubs, and those experiences found their way into his witty children's book Hip Cat, which has been featured on the PBS children's television show Reading Rainbow. After writing down the tale The Owl Who Became the Moon in 1989, London began to wonder if other people might want to read it. He picked up his kids' copy of Winnie-the-Pooh and saw that the book was published by Dutton, so he casually decided to send his story to them. Surprisingly enough, they wanted to publish him. Working with different illustrators, and occasionally with co-authors, London has produced literally dozens of books.
