After reading so many books about the plights of people groups in our world I was excited to find a book that addressed activism in a way that truly makes sense to young children. This book is beautiful. Each time you turn the page you are faced with a quote from a young person about their beliefs. Each page also shows photographs of young kids walking the streets in protest. Sporadically throughout the book are important definitions of words related to activism including: activism, feminism, democracy, first amendment rights, protest, freedom and equality. Many children feel small and powerless in a world of grownups that make decisions for them. This book can stand to give hope to a child that wants to raise their voice above a sea of annoying adults.
