True Confessions of an Alphabet Book Hater: I LOVED this book.
Every agent's name is a letter of the alphabet. Each agent uses tools that begin with his or her letter to perform secret agent duties.

There's some pretty tough vocabulary in this book, and some secret agent level rhyming.

Extra points for rhyming box with Xerox and quiche with microfiche. (I'll have to explain those allusions to my younger students).
I thought that this story was a creative way to get children to understand the alphabet. The story started off with of course Agent A getting a call, his supervisor told him that every agent had to use a word that started with the beginning of their initials. For example agent B was on a mission where he had to defuses a bomb, so he choice the blue wire. Throughout the whole book examples like this continued. Once agent A had helped everyone with their mission, he had to report back to his supervisor and tell him how everyone did. In helping all of the other agents throughout the day, agent A forgot to complete his own mission. His supervisor told agent A he was fired. Agent A said he found the answer which in itself the word answer show more starts with the letter A, so it turned out agent A was saved from getting fired. show less

An alphabet book where each agent is doing something with his letter to solve a mystery. For example, Agent C is crawling up the window using suction cups. Goes through each letter of the alphabet with short phrases and illustrations as they track down clues. Then at the end, Agent A comes in and the boss yells at him saying he is fired only to realize that there is a party and all the other Agents B-Z are dancing and it is a joke on him.
This is a book thattalks about Agent A finding agents B-Z diong things that start with the letter of their agent letter. It has fun rhyming it it, so it would be a good book to introduce rhyming.
Each agent goes by a letter of the alphabet and each is up to some kind of spying activity. The illustrations here are fun and there's a bit of a mystery, too - who is missing agent?
