I've created books with fantastic publishers including Scholastic, Chronicle, Penguin, Bloomsbury, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. My editorial illustrations have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Wired, The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, and many other national publications. My low-res iotacons have adorned books, magazines, records, quilts, restaurant bathrooms, and even the side of an east London car park, courtesy of the street artist Space Invader. Recently, I've been creating animations for Nickelodeon, Penguin, and other clients. Please look for my work in national competitions including American Illustration, Communication Arts, and The Society of Illustrators. I teach illustration at The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

When a boy learns about the upcoming eclipse in school, he makes a plan to see it with his dad. They travel to the path of totality, camp out, and experience the phenomenon together: "We are in the perfect place at the perfect time." The narration provides a kind of countdown, from two months ago to right now, and even goes into the future, when they might see another eclipse together.
Back matter includes more information about eclipses. Front endpapers show the path of totality of the 2017 show more eclipse across a U.S. map; back endpapers show future eclipse paths. show less

This is funny book. A silly animal-identifying story about a boy who receives a saddle for his birthday and sets out to find a horse. Finally finds a horse and aks if it wants to go for a ride, but he saddles HIMSELF! The gouache and India ink illustrations are comical and colorful, and the cartoon expressions capture the burlesque nature of the story. I love the colorful illustrations, the humor in the text and illustrations, and the investigating of different animals. But it is all for the show more ending. I laugh each time. show less
True Confessions of an Alphabet Book Hater: I LOVED this book.
Every agent's name is a letter of the alphabet. Each agent uses tools that begin with his or her letter to perform secret agent duties.
There's some pretty tough vocabulary in this book, and some secret agent level rhyming.
Extra points for rhyming box with Xerox and quiche with microfiche. (I'll have to explain those allusions to my younger students).

Mmm, I heart me some zombies and Andy Rash has created one really cute zombie love story that seriously melted my brain with its evil sugary goodness! :}
From the publisher / This darkly funny illustrated tale—think Bunny Suicides meets Edward Gorey meets Hallmark—celebrates the romantic side of a zombie plague, with plenty of BRAINS and a lot of heart.
Short and sweet, I cannot really say too much for fear of spoiling its charming surprises. The illustrations were simply perfect in every show more way with nothing too gruesome, but tastefully reddened at the right moments.
Read it. Love it. Heart it. Brain it. show less
