i have actually been re-reading this with my littleman, surfer girl and steelers boy. it is just so awesomely done. it's in alphabetical order for easy perusing and specific study, it's also divided into battles, groups and machines. it's wonderfully done, i have two from marvel (my personal favorite) and they just don't compare. i wish they would do one like this.
If you’re a DC comic book geek you have to have this it's a handy reference for the various, people, groups and institutions in the DC universe. My only quibble is that they left out some well known people in the DC universe for some lesser known people.
If you enjoy the history and characters of comics you should pick this up. The artwork is more dated in this encyclopedia compared to the Marvel encyclopedia so depending on what you like better you may what to pick it up first. You are given all the characters backgrounds including there first appearance and there special powers/abilities. There is also a small section on vehicles, weapons, team-ups and battles.
A solid guide to the DC Universe.
