In this second book in Helena Hunting’s Shacking UP series, Amily, the best friend from the previous book with the douchy fiancé, is at her wedding reception when her husband of only minutes is caught cheating in a very public and humiliating way. Amily escapes to get away from his manipulations, and winds up spending time with Lexington, brother of Bane, from the previous book. They were cute together, and this was a fun, light read. Plus, Armstrong, the soon-to-be-ex-husband was over the top ridiculous it was hilarious.

Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader.

4 stars

I already had a good idea of what was to come with this book because so much of the first book had foreshadowed what was to come for Amalie. Therefore, this book was a little bit of a letdown for me. Everything happened as I had expected it. I did enjoy Lexington more than I anticipated and that is the reason that this went from 3.5 stars to 4 stars.

I read this as part of the boxset.

I did like this book, which is more than I can say for most of the characters. It is a little all over the place and drags in spots, but for the most part, it was a quick, sweet and fun read with humor. I like the humor lol. And I liked the tickle trunk. But I felt really sorry for Lex, and felt nothing but disgust and distaste for Armstrong. I kind of wish he'd drowned.... The sex was fun, a departure from reality to be sure. I want this amazingly talented sexletes tracking me down.

Helena Hunting makes you love and hate her characters. Hooking Up runs you through a roller coaster ride of emotions. I read this book in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down! I could hear the voice of the villain in my head getting more evil as the story went on. You can feel the relationship develop between the hero and heroine. Lex would be the F of my FMK. ( )
