American battle of independance 1777
Un libro straordinario in tutto e per tutto, come già ebbe a definirlo Calvino. Cento diapositive psicologiche, al tempo impietose ed esilaranti, cento "piccoli romanzi fiume" dove il vissuto interiore è messo a fuoco ed espanso fino all'assurdo. Manganelli passa dal serio, al faceto, all'onirico con una fluidità impressionante tanto che il suo stile spicca, e di molto, tra i pur numerosi autori italiani che hanno goduto di maggiore pubblicità. Il registro è colto ma frizzante, mai noioso. Definire Centuria coinvolgente e divertente è riduttivo, probabilmente una delle opere migliori mai scritte in questa lingua.
