In this book, we learn much about Czarist Russia in the very early 20th Century. Is is a great place to live for the Aristocracy for everyone else, it is horrendous. Powerssourt takes on the many secret service organizations operating in this extremely parinoid country to investigate the death of a British diplomat. Complexities abond but with some rather unique assistance, he sorts it all out.
