I like this book because it presents information in a fun, relatable and vibrant way for the reader. The illustrations help to represent the information that is being expressed throughout the text of the book. For example, one of the concepts the book discusses is how much is an ounce. The book uses a Hershey’s chocolate bar to demonstrate how much an ounce is. I think this was a great idea to use different types of candy and Hershey products because they are relatable to children. What child does not love candy? The illustrations make the book more engaging by using vibrant colors and bolded text in various places throughout the book. The book provides a lot of information on weights and measures. For example, it says on one page show more “One thousand grams is a kilogram. One thousand kilograms is called a metric ton”. The book is also interactive. On the same page as the previous example, the last line of the page is “What weighs more, a ton or a metric ton? The answer is hidden on this page”. This engages the reader even more asking them to participate and look for the answer on the page. I think the main idea of this book is to provide the reader with information. show less
This is a great measurement and weight book that uses different Hershey’s, Reese’s, and Twizzlers products to compare different weights and measurements of everyday things. It covers metric, standard, time, and weight. This would be great to use in the classroom with elementary kids when discussing weight and measurement during math class. I rated this 5 out of 5 because it uses candy as its comparison to what it is measuring, and kids love candy. I also liked that it used both standard and metric system. It is something fun for the children to read, and they get to learn at the same time!

The book Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Weights and Measuring begins by introducing different words that people use when talking about measurement. Then it shows images of different feet such as a mouse’s foot or a baby’s foot. The book compares one inch to a piece of candy and explains that twelve pieces of candy is equal to one foot. Throughout the book show more there are different length comparisons with candy. I like that the book compares a certain kind of candy to a length or weight measurement. These comparisons can be used as a reward in the classroom. show less
