Sex and the Nymphomaniacal Witch...?

Harmony Cartwright has a gift. As one of a triplet trio of witches she has the ability to touch an object and learn things about previous owners. Since she and her sisters run a vintage curio shop this ability certainly comes in handy in finding some of most authentic and valuable items. But when a garage sale dress calls out to her in more ways than one she finds herself with a psychic mandate which leads her to Paxton Castle on the coast of Salem, Massachusetts.

Visiting the castle might not be a big deal if it wasn't under renovation and haunted by one very unhappy witch's spirit. Maybe it might be simple if the castle's owner—the aptly named King Paxton—weren't struggling to get the show more renovations done so he can sell it. If only the ghost of a disgruntled witch weren't making chaos with her wailing and moaning surely Paxton and his crew would be finished. Enter Harmony Cartwright and the ghostly presence seems tamed. But can Paxton tame Harmony and finish the renovations without getting killed by his ghostly haunter?

This was definitely a tough book for me as a reader. Blair isn't a bad writer but after reading a couple of her stories now I've found that I really don't care for the emphasis being so heavily on the sexual side of the relationship. Sure, this book's title does point in that direction but sexual chemistry can't be the only thing driving a romance... right?

The plot was a bit formulaic with some decent twists thrown in. I do love that Blair finds a way to make family important to her characters and finds ways to weave that element into her stories. What I felt was missing here though was a thread of realism to counter-balance the paranormal (in this case witches, ghosts and magic). The quickness with which Paxton and his friends accept the paranormal explanations and the quirky Cartwright sisters didn't give me enough conflict to sell the story well.

If you're looking for a quick, slightly fluffy read with lots of sex (and Blair does write good sex) and cutesey bits I think you'd probably like this book a lot. Unfortunately it just wasn't solid enough for me to love.

A unique perspective on the romance novel, with triplets being the center key. The vocabulary is a little tough to follow at first - everything must be positive for the heroine, even the cursing. But this lessens as the story develops. It almost seems as if the author is trying too hard to make a complex storyline, with the long-lost kid, the cats, the grandkid, etc. Also the extremely obvious foreshadowing of the next two books in the series was a little annoying. Still though, very steamy and very funny.

This book is about triplet witches and is the first book in the series about the sisters. Harmony Cartwright is one person who doesn't fool around, except when it comes to King. She is funny, beautiful, full of life and a witch. She has psychic powers and can hear the thoughts of those around her -- although King's thoughts seem to intrigue her the most.

For those of you who haven't read this book. Harmony can read objects and have visions about the previous owners. Harmony and her sisters own a vintage shop and she goes in search for vintage stuff to buy. After finding a ring, it leads her to a castle on an island outside of Massachusetts and to King Paxton. He hopes that she can help him rid the castle of the ghost of his ancestor so show more he can live in peace and maybe help rid him of the chip that's on his shoulder.

This book is full of hot love scenes and lots of toil and trouble!!! Fascinating book about witches. Things just pop up and you never know what's going to happen next! I can't wait to read the next book in the series: Gone with the Witch - featuring the next Cartwright sister, Storm.

I don't think I really enjoyed this until the girl and her daughter showed up, about 2/3 of the way through. Something about the writing just seemed off-putting. Not bad at the end, and I have the next in the series so I'll give it a try.
You may have read the accidental witch series first, the last book had some pretty big leaders to this series. If you don't mind a little plot with your sex, you'll love these books. Scenes are very repetitive and the story very predictible. The reason I read it. It was bought as a complete series [along with the accidental witch series] off a reliable friend [who, I've recently found, really likes the 'hot' books, not the 'plot' books] :) we're still friends, I just ignore the majority of her recommendations.
This book was awful. I was going to do a review including some of the stupidest quotes (something about the sea drowning them like a maniacal mother smothering a baby with a pillow, for example), but it's not worth my time. Suffice it to sat, never again.

Triplets Extraordinaire

For sharing a lifetime of triplet secrets
and for answering my questions
no ... (show all)matter where you were in the world at the time.

It seems like yesterday that you came to my door selling
cookies and I thought I was hallucinating.

Note to my readers:

Sarah, Meghan, and Kate are the inspiration
for my triplet series, not the models,
though when they raise their voices in song together,
they do raise a vibration.
And there the resemblance ends.
