Many books have been written about people winning the lottery and the aftermath of such a happening. Jeanne Ray has added a twist to this scenario that makes this story even more interesting. With endearing characters, this tale will pull you in as you wait for each lottery drawing, just as the characters are waiting. As Julie copes with Romeo’s compressed spine, young Sarah’s obsession with Willie Wonka and the lottery, Nora’s longing for a child, and Sandy’s sibling rivalry, the reader roots for Julie and her cool disposition, even as her ex-husband makes an appearance with his new family. This series is a delight to read, and is even better in this audio version, read by the author.
So much fun - I loved this and the first book in the series. I wish there were more. Jeanne Ray writes beautifully and makes stories that could be sappy turn out to be completely heartfelt and not at all trite. I love that her books have older characters, too - there's something fun in the idea of romance being out there for everyone.
Second book of a series very loosely based on Romeo and Juliet. Story picks up after the main characters have finally overcome the family drama in the first book. Cute story, funny but could have used a few less references to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I really enjoy Ray's everyday romance stories of family life. Entertaining, relaxing reads.
A breezy "comic novel", with lots of incidents & the world's most spoiled 8-year old.
This is why our children are the way they are today. A loving mother that can't cut ties to her children and ruins the grandchild, as well.
