This book is great if you are interested in drawing and painting in a style similar to that on your favorite mangas or cartoons and want to learn how to use copic markers (alcohol ink). The instructions are clear and simple, perfect for those starting to draw characters and wanting to take it easy and have fun. There is a lot of useful information you can take advantage of, even for the smallest of details like -how to properly draw the folds on clothing-, so that you can achieve great quality drawings.

It provides relevant information about tools and supplies, workspace, sketching, inking, drawing the head features, hands, feet, proportions, poses, clothes, thumbnailing, silhouettes, composition, lineart, color theory and a strong focus on step-by-step instructions, tips and techniques for working with copic markers.

For those with prior knowledge in drawing and coloring, it will probably feel basic. It is meant to be for those at the beginning of their artistic journey. However, in my case, I knew most of the art concepts yet still found couple of great tips and techniques (I'm fairly new to copic markers). It is well designed (I like my art books to be pretty and inspiring, not like a textbook) and full of images. Great companion book if you just bought your first set of copic markers. I got my eArc from NetGalley ( )
