Description

So, I've checked off some life goals and added a few new ones to my list. Goal #5: Get out of hell's belly without letting my ungrateful charges die. Goal #6: Get a new name that's more badass. Goal #7: Stop wasting my breath on lectures and start annoying the quad hell squad every time they annoy me. Fight fire with fire. Ha! Another hell pun. Goal 8: Find out who the hell killed me. I'll add more. I don't want to overwhelm myself before I even finish checking off my old goals. But show more seriously, I really do need a more badass name, considering how much I have to keep saving my damsels in distress. I probably shouldn't call them damsels, since they're a little murderous and all. Maybe I should add seeing a hell-certified psychologist to my list of goals. Contains mature themes. show less

Finally at the end we learn the origins of all five. It makes sense and is a twisted path to get there. I don't have much interest in continuing the series now that the secret has been solved and some of the firsts have happened, but also because the main character kept getting on my nerves. She goes from flightly and daft to downright smug and obnoxious. I liked her in the first book but there are new sides that are just grating. The "favorite" thing got old. The trials were interesting but thankfully didn't dominate the entire book, ending about 35% in. When steamy scenes ARE actually shown besides teasing, it's smoking.
I am really enjoying this series. I think book 2 may have lost some of Keyla's sass. A lot of the questions have been answered but there are some still lingering. I do like that the guys are less jerky in this book. The riddles were a fun addition. The revelations were big but I expected them as they are hinted at several times. Overall, a fun read with great characters that you can't help but love.
The plotline pulled me in from where it left off from book one. Not only does it start off where it left off but it also heats up between the characters just a bit more. Although Keyla dies, he death is an eye-opener for the guys on how much they care. They also find out who and what they are and why they can't remember who they are. Not only do they discover who they are but they find out why Keyla why is with them. I will say that she is a badass but I wish they would respect and show her they appreciate her more as well. I really enjoy the storyline can't wait for the next one.
Aaaaaaaannnnnd I’m done. I got 75% of the way through this. Which by the way this one is super short and it went all in on the supreme supernatural beings gods and goddesses thing and I lost all interest. Not only that it was confusing and made little sense.

I’m just not interested in the 4 horsemen and the apocalypse being human beings. And there’s evidently a Bobby in the shower element. It seems like it was set up by the heroine to have them all loose their memories just for fun and so they could all fall in love again.

I’d still be all in if they were ordinary people caught up in something supernatural but no.

YMMV it was fun except for hitting so strong on my ‘I just can’t’ button. If those sorts of stories are your show more cuppa you should really love this. show less
***I am editing my review now that I have finished the whole series. I loved the series. I gave this book 2 stars (original review below) but once I read the whole series that needed to be updated. All the books, with the exception of the 4th book, are around 160 pages. I really think it could have been beneficial to have been one big book.

I liked this book a lot more than the first oddly enough. I was intrigued by the first book’s ending and wanted to know more. I’m glad I continued on, it was definitely worth it.
Wow, lots of new secrets in here!

Three Trials by Kristy Cunning takes the story even farther and deeper into Hell ! More secrets about the guys are revealed, the girl, and details about the trial in Hell! One of the five is attacked, one dies, so you have to read to see who, what, when and where! Very exciting! This book gets very steamy!
Still saying there's something oddly familiar about this book. Anyway moving on to book number three. However I'm glad you finally got a freak on. LOL
