My grandson and I read this together discussing the colours, the celebrations, the clothes etc. He actually enjoyed the illustrations and talking about the colours. He is only four, but the book's bright illustrations and simple text held his attention. He actually wanted to paint after reading this, not sure if it was because of the book that this was his desire, but it seemed so. A very simple book to highlight many colours in the world in a different way. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley. ( )

This is a great beginner introduction to cultures around the world. The author does a great job of describing the part colors play in different cultures and countries from the style of clothing representing a different country to remembering the history of a certain culture. Celebrating with colors is also discussed. Coloring eggs with bright colors reminds us that spring is here. They also briefly describe the meaning of different colors and how they relate to different cultures and customs. I would recommend this for any collection looking for books that describe cultures and color and how they go hand in hand. The text is simple and there is a section that asks the reader to find certain Crayola colors throughout the book. There is also a glossary, book list and websites in the back of the book. ( )
