WHAT’S ONE LITTLE WHITE LIE?

Okay, so it isn’t that little. It’s kind of a whopper. It’s just that when Natalie Raglan ups and quits her job at a Bath advertising firm, breaks up with her loser-ish boyfriend, and moves–to London! Things don’t quite turn out the way she planned. Having made the brave move to the Big City, the lifelong country mouse finds that living chic is still a long way off. Even Cressida, the girl who used to rent her tiny flat, still gets more phone calls show more and mail there than Nat does. Come to think of it, Cressida Langdon’s life looks pretty appealing–especially when an invitation to the posh, exclusive Soho House club arrives, addressed to Cressida.
Before she really knows what she’s done, Nat has opened Cressida’s mail . . . and taken up her life. Soon Nat’s dating a gorgeous investment banker named Simon, giving “reiki healing sessions,” wearing wonderful clothes, and partying with the A-list at Soho House. But the best part really is Simon. He’s everything Nat has ever wanted. The problem is he thinks she’s someone else. And as her life and her lies begin to spiral out of control, Nat can’t help but wonder: Will she be exposed as a liar and a fake–or be saved from ruin by simply claiming good intentions. . . .

Tried to read it, but mostly skimmed it. The basic premise bothered me and I knew that I'd feel really pissed off if everything worked out in the end, even if the author is sisters with Sophie Kinsella. There may have been some meat in the tale but there was a great deal of superficiality which put me off -- things like the idea that someone will "pop the question" to a girl because she's wearing designer clothes, or that bank accounts matter more than actual emotions.
Natalie Raglan quits her job at an advertising firm, breaks up with her cheating boyfriend, and moves to London. She finds a job as a sales person in an expensive clothing store and lies to her friends and family back home saying she works in advertising there as well.
She also lies about where she goes for fun and who she's dating! It's a fun story and you find yourself telling her to just tell the truth already! She gets herself in all kinds of messes with everyone from her best friend to her new boyfriend who thinks she's really somebody else lol which all started when she opened a letter addressed to the person who used to live in the apartment she lives in now. Silly and cute, easy read.
If you're looking for a good, pick-me-up read, then you're at the right place! The name of this book was so appealing, I couldn't turn it down! You will fall in love with quite a character called Natalie...or is it Cressida? You'll have to read to find out the real answer! We have all thought at one time or another to pick up everything and start over somewhere new. But everything doesn't turn out like roses. Life can throw you some curve balls. This certainly happened to Natalie. This is truly a novel of love and good intentions. They all come together beautifully! Enjoy!
Enjoyable story but too much usage of the "f" word for my taste. Good romance.
Natalie isn't really the London glam girl she aspires to be. You can take the girl out of Bath, but. She lies to keep up pretences and ends up having to give it all up. Of course she gets the perfect man in end.
