This book highlights black and white animals and the purpose for their black and white coloring. The illustrations are simple yet accurate and and the animals covered range from skunks to butterflies. I felt wanting more information on the reasons and purposes of their coloring. ( )

This is a book about many different black and white animals in our world. The book was a fun read. The illustrations really brought the animals to life. My favorite part was reading about the Giant panda. I also really like that they had each animal listed in the back with it's scientific name. I think this is a great touch and would really be a good reference book for young students to use if they were to do a research project. ( )

This book focuses on a wide variety of animals all of which are black and white in color. Descriptions, a few facts, and a bold illustration are given on each animal. Penguins, panda bears, killer whales, and even domestic animals are included. I think this book's purpose is to have readers develop an interest in animal life. Though this is not an outstanding book, I would read this to students when learning about animal camouflage and habitats. ( )

This book is a unique way for children to learn about various kinds of black and white animals and how each of them live in the environment. From pandas to penguins to zebras, Dorothy Hinshaw Patent goes into detail about the practical functions of feathers, fur, and scales. Children also get an up close and personal look at the animals due to the great art work and illustrations of Kendahl Jan Jubb. ( )
