I was a good girl. I ate my vegetables, volunteered at the local autism center and sat in the front pew of church every Sunday. Then, I got cancer. What the hell kind of reward was that for a boring life well lived? I was a seventeen-year-old paradigm of virtue and I was tired of it. So, when I finally ran into the man I'd been writing to since he saved my life as a little girl and he offered to show me the dark side of life before I left it for good. I said yes. Only, I didn't know that show more Zeus Garro was the President of The Fallen MC and when you made a deal with a man who was worse than the Devil, there was no going back... show lessTags

5 lightning bolt stars
I honestly didn't think anyone could top King or his Queen. I was wrong. So very wrong. Sweet holy Mary, Joseph, Gabriel, and Jesus... Zeus might have just replaced almost all of my previous book boyfriends. That says a lot considering t have a lot depending on my mood. He definitely moved into the top five that before now had NEVER changed.
Zeus was the true definition of the grey area between black and white. He was no saint but he was far from the devil. He was the perfect man precariously balanced on the abyss of good and evil. He lived by a code of honor; his kids, his club, and his girl and for that he should be commended. Lou. Sweet holy hell. This girl truly was a warrior. I loved her from the moment she show more first was drawn to Zeus amidst a rainfall of bullets. The letters were the icing on the cake. Together, these two defied the notion that there was anything seedy or taboo about their huge age gap. They showed that our souls recognize our soulmate and age is nothing in the grand scheme of things because the heart always know what it wants.
This author's writing is truly sublime. The certain way that she phrases a particular word or illustrates a thought or scene left me in awe more times than I can count. I hope that everyone gets a story and that this series continues. I want to know about them all from Lionel and HR, to Sander and Bea, to Priest, and Nova. Actually, I just want all the words from this amazing author. I'm glad that a certain Aussie author and her amazing PA recommended this author to me because my life would be seriously deprived if I didn't have this author and her amazing characters in my head... And my heart. show less

A few days ago I wrote a review for LESSONS IN CORRUPTION by Giana Darling. I seem to remember saying something along the lines of “King Kyle Garro” is my newest obsession... let me tell you, that all changed the moment i picked up WELCOME TO THE DARKSIDE. Zeus Garro is SOMETHING ELSE. Infact, im going to say that Zeus Garro is EVERYTHING. ZEUS FUCKING GARRO just killed me, guys!!! I am SO in love with this man, its ridiculous.
Let me just be honest for a second, this book is NOT going to be to everyones taste. Why? Well, there is a VERY big age difference between Zeus and Lou. 19 years to be exact. Fair warning, if you arent a fan of forbidden romance, dont even bother. If, like me, that doesnt matter to you in the slightest and show more you are ready for Daddy Zeus, then this book is going to be the ride of your life. Seriously.
“Wanna feel this pussy leakin’ all over my dick while you work it.”he rasped in such a low rumble it was nearly indecipherable. “Wanna see your face as tou struggle to take alla me in this tight cunt. Tell me, Lou, when i first break through, will you cry pretty tears for me?”
OhEmmmmmGeeeeeee. I think i was an absolute mess everytime Zeus spoke. He is absolutely filthy at times, and I. LOVED. IT!!!! Dont get me wrong though, he had his sweet moments, and it was so perfect to see that caring side of him, and how he utterly worshipped Lou.
“Now, I ain’t makin’ you and promises here, little warrior, but if your fine ass is going to heaven - and it fuckin’ well is - I’ll find a way to get there too. If i gotta move into that fuckin’ church and pay penance every goddamn hour, I’ll do it. If I gotta give up boozin’, guns and drug runnin’, I’ll fuckin’ well do it and I’d do it now if it meant I got a place beside my girl behind those pearly gates.”
*swoons*
I know i have spoken mainly about Zeus, but I am seriously obsessed with this guy!! I have to mention some others though. Lou, obviously!! This girl is so fucking wise, and brave, and just bad-ass. She may have been 17 years old but she knew EXACTLY what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to go for it. I really adored her. It was awesome to see more of King and Cress, and Harleigh-Rose, and Nova. Ooooooh, I love Nova, and really hope he gets his own story. And finally, Mute. *cries* What an absolute sweetheart he was. I loved his relationship with Lou.
Anyway, I think ive gone on waaaay too long, but you get the idea...I fucking loved this book. So much! Giana Darling is an incredible author and has created a story and characters that are going to blow you away. I know that i am going to be read this book many times over in the future. show less

this book was ........ some shit to say the least
“i couldn’t breathe because he held my breath, couldn’t think because he’d rewritten my thoughts into ones of his own making. he controlled me but only to love me, to make me understand how i could love myself better than i already did.”
i got huuuugeeeee bdb vibes from this, and zeus was SUCH a Wrath!!!! except bigger, scarier, and hotter.
i loved the writing, i loved the characters, i loved the romance and the SPICE, i adored mute and i cried when he died, just like i cried when Lou lost some of her hair in the bathroom and she shaved zeus’s head. yall this book just DID something to me. like i know there’s a million and one fucked up things going on in this book, but in show more spite of all of it i still really loved this story. show less

I am actually sitting at a 3.5 Rating. I would sit the first book at more of a 3.0-3.25 and this one sat at a 4-star almost until the minute 17yr old LouLou Fox came onto the scene, then the decline went steadily downhill.
I am typically okay with the older-man-younger-woman trope IF the younger woman can show me some state of maturity. For some reason, the decision was made to amp up Lou's NEED/DESIRE for Zeus...which was fine...but then we had to turn ALL THOSE OTHER ADULTS in her life into near nemesis so that THE ONLY ADULT she could turn to was Zeus.
I got it. I GET it. But jeebus-christ-on-cracker let the girl graduate and get outta high school before we make her the "Old Lady". I kept taking a long deep breath at the mere mention show more of people having to drive the girl to school...NOT COLLEGE...HIGH SCHOOL!!
Then the star-rating lost more power when Lou made the situation sillier by lying to Zeus about going to chemo...and it just never became about the girl growing up, but more like her screaming into adulthood way-too quickly. I get it, I do. It's nice to see the soulmates in love together forever, but once one of the MC brothers was dead...shot because he was protecting Lou 'til his, literal, last dying breath, I saw no maturity in Lou, nor anyone caring that just because she's had cancer before and grown older than her young years too fast doesn't necessarily mean she IS mature.
So much could've been done for Lou without needing Zeus to make her HIS before she was even the woman she's supposed to become. But, I know...this is what being an MC's Old Lady is ALL ABOUT, why the trope is so addictive.
I liked Lou and I really didn't mind Zeus...despite all the mentions of Lou being "HIS little girl" sometimes in the same breath as his own daughter of the same age...but I wished more for Lou...I really did. #epicsadface show less

So I read some of the reviews and was disappointed the low ones looked at this as a pedophile...I didn't see it that way. When he referred to her, thinking back on while he held her in her arms after one bullet went through them both and waiting 10 years to kiss her, he was referring to waiting for her soul not her child's body. So I have to respectfully disagree with those negative reviews.
This is a man who refused to write a 16 year old after she told him she loved him. This is a man who did his best to distance himself from her...she was the one who poked the bear.
Here is a girl who had to grow up fast being abandoned by her parents after she was shot, after she beat cancer with Zeus' help and encouragement, after she was told she show more has cancer again and after her parents used her for political and social gain.
People...I say again as I did in my review of the first book...age is just a number.
The chemistry jumped out of the pages for me. My emotions were flying high for Lou and all she went through. I didn't appreciate or agree wirh the fact she didn't tell Zeus about the cancer coming back. Here he was planning for a future that may not happen. But she expects him to be completely open and honest with her...Not cool on her part.
I was in tears...this book gave me so many emotions that it deserves a high review...kudos to the author for being able to do that for the readers...I'm crush why it had to be that character...I loved him. show less

A "forbidden" romance between a 17 year old girl and a much older man in his 30s. These two characters have an intense emotional connection due to a shared traumatic experience. There is a good amount of violent and sexual content that potential readers should be aware of. I found the main couple to be more believable that the couple in the previous book in the series, but I'm not sure that I can say that I'm a fan of this type of romance. That being said, I'm sure that there are plenty of readers that would find this book interesting and captivating.
Unexpectedly good
The beginning of this book felt like reading a series of love letters. The middle was hot and sexy. The end was... Apologies. I can’t describe the end without spoiling it.
I didn’t expect to like this book. The large age gap had me on the fence about reading this. I am glad I did.
