Now that he's escaped his prison, the dragons will pay . . . Eons ago, humanity punished Luc's people by banishing them to another realm. The demons adapted to their new world, changed their violent ways, and ditched their monstrous alter egos. They lived in peace and prosperity until the dragon mages joined them in exile-and killed them to survive. Now there is only one demon left, and he's ready for revenge. Luc's plans to rule the world don't bother Elspeth in the least. A man should have a goal in life. As for his perpetual frown, she's determined to turn it upside down. All he needs is a great big hug, and if she's lucky he won't break like the other boys do. He might even be strong enough to handle her in bed. But first she's got to convince her king not to lynch him because apparently someone's been sucking the souls of dragons. If they're right, and Luc is to blame, then she might be next. Demon Walking by Eve Langlais

Dragon Point book #6. Can be read as a stand-alone paranormal romance.
Hilarious and wonderful. A naive and perpetually happy dragon and a peace loving demon are teamed in this entertaining adventure.
Be warned: when the drugs wear off or alcohol is involved, happy dragon can turn viscous.

I listened to the audio version, alternating with a paperback. The narration was done by Chandra Skye who did a phenomenal job with the voices and pacing of Elspeth, Babette, and Luc. In particular, Elspeth would go from happy to crying to wonder in an instant which the narrator handled with ease.
I enjoyed this so much, I didn’t want to turn it off to go back to work or daily life. I want to start it over and do it all again.

Excerpt for getting to Elspeth just a bit:
“Given walking was considered healthy, she set off with a Jaunty step. A car pulled up alongside her. The window rolled down, and a very handsome man peered out of her.

“Can I give you a ride?” he asked.

The kindness of strangers never failed to the delight.
“That would be epic” she exclaimed.[..Babette interceded .] Babette reached her, hands planted on her hips.
“ What is wrong with you? We are supposed to be on a plane flying home.”

“I told you, I have unfinished business here.”

“ Yes. Yes. You told me Luc needs you. Blah. Blah.” Babette rolled her eyes. A lot of people exercised their orbs in that way around Elspeth.”
