Description
A grand jury in New York indicts an elderly Chinese couple for possession and conspiracy to sell narcotics. A good mystery, but I also learned a lot about the grand jury system. Some of the Chinese stuff went over my head a bit, but I was riveted with the overall book and was frustrated in my attempts to finish it faster! The romance was a bit of a disappointment though. There was heat coming off the page until they got together. Once together Friedman couldn't sustain the heat.
I don't like books whose plot requires main characters to be stupid in order for things to develop.
Not a bad story, but the narrator of this audiobook drove me nuts. Couldn't finish.
