there's a little bit of everything here - memoir, fiction, fantasy; sad, troubled, hopeful, empowering, triggering. it runs the gamut, which makes sense as there are over 50 contributors to the collection. each comic is short - some one page, a few as many as 7-10 pages. many of them didn't resonate with me or even make sense to me, but plenty were excellent little snapshots or messages to the trans community or thoughtful depictions of a moment in time from a trans perspective. i am very much learning that comics are just not a medium that i generally appreciate or even enjoy, but while i didn't like everything in this book, i am glad i read this. and more importantly, i'm glad it exists. (not that it matters what i think. this book show more was written by trans people for trans people and i can't imagine that any person associated with this book would care what a cis person thinks about it.) it's incredible to me the this is the first book of its kind and for that alone (and the scope, the diversity of voices and art - like i said, over 50 contributors) it deserves accolades. and i'm glad it ends on a more empowering set of comics, so the reader is (hopefully) left with pride and hope and a feeling of community around being trans.
the foreword and introduction were probably my favorite parts (just goes to show how much more i like text than comics) but i really liked bishakh som's little story, even though it was one of the more mundane of the lot. and the one by geeta lewis.
i'm glad i read this but i think i can probably stop trying to read comics now. show less

This anthology has a huge range of styles, tones, and subject matter. Really liked some of the comics; others weren't as much my thing. It's a cool way to find out about some new artists.
