When you grow up in a family like mine, it's easy to identify the kind of men that are bad news. They're the ones with experience. The ones with secrets. The ones that exude sex just by saying your name. From the moment I laid eyes on Lorenzo, I knew he wasn't just bad news. He was the headline. But my head and my heart are at war. He's too mysterious, too gorgeous, too wild, and now, he wants me. I should run far away. So why am I racing toward him? I'm totally going to get burned. I know it. A man like Lorenzo won't leave me unscathed. He'll make ashes of me.… (more)

this book was SO good. it was very much in the genre of mafia love, drama.

the plot had me on the edge of my seat, not wanting to put the book down the entire time. her feelings towards him were very relatable in certain ways. there were alot of moments i was able to plan out predict what was going to happen, which i love, and hate. but, there were also moments with plot twists that just threw me for a loop, which i sometimes love in a book because it leaves me wanting more.

the ending was very much a "happy ever after" ... but with ther backgrounds in life, i feel like there HAS to be MORE. ( )

Dual POV. I liked that it was mostly the heroine with the odd chapter from the Hero.

Ex-drama though no intimate scenes, mostly discussion. She dances and had been involved with her dance partner.

I didn't think the heroine was too bright to not catch on to the Hero's obvious connection to the Mafia, especially considering in other scenes it was stated she grew up around it so knew the score.
That said there was a few surprises as to the Hero's initial interest in the heroine.

The Hero is flawed, made lots of mistakes, Esp his past.

A few secondary characters that sparked interest for future stories.

They did have a strong chemistry between them which for me made her seem to come across as easy.

Heroine is a bit of a crier.

Interesting take on a mafia romance. The author did a great job at leaving the story open for further expansion. It would be interesting to read about Gio and Emma. ( )

Amazing story. I loved this one and hope to see more from this series. I loved all the characters too. The actions was intense, the alphaness and romance was off the charts. Great story line that kept me engaged from start to finish. ( )
