Grab a tea and curl up in front of the fireplace for this one. Good characters, plot and a bit of suspense. ( )

Nicole was ecstatic to find a well paying job that would help her with her bills. Her heart was wrestling with what her friend was asking of her though, at first, it sounded so innocent - just convince her patient to sell his lodge. As she became acquainted with him & his family, the guilt set in & it wasn’t such an easy job. She never planned on the sympathy for their circumstances or her feelings for the prodigal son, Kai.

Kai has been gone for a long time. He felt it was impossible for his dad & him to live under the same roof. Now he’s gotten the call everyone dreads & has headed home. His father’s health is failing & the lodge is falling apart from lack of attention & maintenance. Kai knows something is up with the nurse, Nicole but he can’t fight the attraction he feels for her. Will he find out the truth? Can their relationship stand the truth?

Jennifer Bernard has given her readers two main characters that are devoted to their families & their well being. Kai & his dad didn’t get along but he wasn’t going to let someone take advantage of him or his siblings. Nicole was driven to take care of her sister in any way possible. This story had it all - sexual chemistry, family, guilt, greed, laugh out loud moments - Everything to make a story terrific. I can’t wait for the next one. ( )

OMG I adore Kai Rockwell!! This is such a great story! It has so much heart and soul and made me feel so many emotions! Kai and Nicole are just amazing people and incredible characters! They clearly have chemistry and an immediate attraction but they do not like or trust each other very much at first. The story around their budding romance is just so good. Kai returns to Rocky Peak Lodge because he fears his father will lose their family legacy to his nurse (Nicole) who seems to be hellbent on getting him to sell. Her real reasons for wanting this are not known for a while. The sparks fly when these two meet and not necessarily in a good way. Both are such passionate people. They come such a long way as they spend more time together and get to really know each other. I love their relationship and how they strengthen each other and give each other a peace neither has ever felt before.
I was so excited for the start of this new series and this book exceeded my expectations! I can't wait to get more of the Rockwells!! ( )
