The perfect holiday read when you're in the mood for something cozy. Predictable? Yes, of course and it doesn't disappoint. But instead of eye-rolling clichés, there's just enough real life seeping in that it rings true. Financial problems, the inevitable distance that can grow in a marriage, and loneliness. One absolute standout element is the descriptions of the food. If that appeals to you it's worth the read for that alone. I loved it! If you're looking for a holiday read with a happy ending and a touch of romance, this one is a perfect fit. A cozy inn in rural Vermont? Stranded guests snowed in by a blizzard? A wedding that may or may not happen? Drama and fledgling romance at Christmastime? Sign me up! Loved this cozy, atmospheric tale with a large cast all snowed in together for the holidays. Sleigh rides and Christmas cookies. An inn to save and a struggling writer. Old flames and new love. This had all the cozy aspects of a Christmas tale I truly loved with lots of happy endings. Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. This was so good! I flew through this one so fast. It's so delightful, from start to finish! 100% reminds me of a Hallmark Christmas movie. This story is about making the best of unplanned circumstances. A mixed cast of characters gets snowed in at the Evergreen Inn over Christmas. I love stories with an Inn setting and I really love stories where people get snowed in over the holidays, so this one was super enjoyable for me. IT has everything from snow and sleigh rides to holiday meals and Santa Claus. Every character has a little bit of a backstory, but the story mostly features how everyone spends their time together. I was tearful at the end, which I loved. It's really so, so good and I can't wait to reread it over and over again. Audiobook Notes: This narrator was new to me, but she did a great job with this one. The thing that stood out the most to me was the way she read with the perfect amount of emotion to go along with every scene, from the sad scenes to the most incredibly happy scenes and everywhere in between. I'm happy recommending it as a holiday listen.
