It describes Jewish history, and the meaning behind Hanukkah. SUMMARY: A young boy learns from his family about the history of Hanukkah. He also learns the traditions during the 8 days, such as lighting the candles, and using oil to fry potato pancakes because it "reminds them of the miracle of the little jug of oil." Also, it describes the boy playing with a dreidel, getting presents, and acting out the story of Hanukkah with his family. Review: This book's main message is to tell the story of Hannukah and the traditions that are practiced when celebrating it. It is a good book to have to describe Hannukah to a young audience. I believe that this book is simple, but gets the important parts across to the reader. no reviews | add a review
