They call him the Duke of Ruin.

To an undaunted wallflower, he's just the beast next door.

Wealthy and ruthless, Gabriel Duke clawed his way from the lowliest slums to the pinnacle of high societyâ??and now he wants to get even.

Loyal and passionate, Lady Penelope Campion never met a lost or wounded creature she wouldn't take into her home and her heart.

When her imposingâ??and attractiveâ??new neighbor demands she clear out the rescued animals, Penny sets him a challenge. She will part with her precious charges, if he can find them loving homes.

Meh. The characters are likable, but don't have enough depth. ( )

Couldn’t figure out what kind of a book it should be or which century it was set in. Plot pacing was absolutely horrible. ( )

I thought this book was a super fun listen. I thought this book has a decent balance between sexy times but also plot development. It was really fun listen. I love books where animals have major focus. I also really liked all the side characters that we met and hope to eventually read their books soon. I also liked that is book tackled harder issues like abuse in regency times. I flew through this read!! ( )

Lady Penny is precious. I love the fact that she had a hedgehog named Freya (that is the name of one of my pet hedgehogs). The Duke of Ruin, Gabriel, isn't as villainous as he thinks he is. There story was fun and entertaining.

I liked the fact that Penny was more worried about her animals being taken care of properly before she worried about herself and that Gaberiel was willing to help her rehome them in order to help her.
