In Blizzard’s Wake, fifteen‑year‑old Kate Sterling is frozen in grief and resentment after her mother’s death and her father’s emotional retreat into medical research. Still haunted by Zeke Dexter—the man legally cleared in the accident—Kate refuses contact, until a massive blizzard traps Zeke on their homestead. Within the storm’s chaos, Kate must confront her pain and decide what forgiveness truly takes. Naylor’s spare, realistic dialogue and portrayal of harsh North Dakota winters deliver authenticity and emotional depth in equal measure. A compelling coming-of-age story wrapped in isolation and a quest for emotional closure.
How do you get over the death of your mother? Can you? Kate has to find away because her anger, guilt, and hate are eating her up. When she finds Zeke, the man who killed her mother in a drunk driving accident, with her dad and brother during the blizzard she has to decide if she can save him along with her family.
Kate Sterling was always a self-sufficient country girl but after her Mother was killed by a drunk driver she was forced to become the mother-figure in the Sterling home. Kate never forgave the man who stole her mother's life. So how do you help save this same man who is caught in a blizzard on her farm.
