It's the third (and final) cycle of Rowan Harbor Cycle and we're back with Devon and Wade. This series just keeps getting better and better. The threat to Rowan Harbor is ramping up and I just can't wait for the next book. This is the final book in Devon and Wade's relationship arc and we were given a lovely HEA. It's hard to say much without giving away the story for those that haven't started this series yet. All I would say is this is well written, the relationships (even the non romantic ones) are excellent, the plot thread is enticing and makes me eager to read on. I adored Devon's talk with Oak, and the joint birthday party, but I'm preparing myself for 'bad things to happen' to Oak before the series ends. Highly recommended. They've hardly ever argued, and when things get tense, Devon has no idea how to handle it.But an evil presence in his town targets the people Devon loves, he has to put his personal worries aside and face danger down again. This is the start of the last 3rd of this paranormal saga showcasing the classic battle of good vs evil.
Wade is probably my favorite MC despite him not being one of the 3 featured stars, and he further solidifies his book boyfriend status this go around.
I’m unfortunately the odd man out regarding this latest installment despite dreamy Wade, and it encompasses Devon’s inconsiderate gesture towards his mate, the return of an ungrateful Siobhan who lays blame without first looking directly at herself for her own culpability, and a consistent anticlimactic conclusion that has been pervasive.
It seems I may have given this series unfounded expectations which is not this author’s fault but my own perceived and projected wants and needs.
Regardless, I still have enjoyed many things about this unique trilogy of trilogies. There’s two more books to go, and I will finish them!!
