Pete the Cat returns in this eleventh full-sized picture-book devoted to his adventures, this time inviting all of his friends over for a pizza party. Our feline hero has definite ideas about what makes the perfect pizza - cheese and pepperoni, in his case - but each of his friends has their own favorite topping. Can Pete keep his cool, when each new idea is mentioned...?

Although not the best of the Pete the Cat picture-books (I tend to prefer the early ones, written by Eric Litwin), Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party is engaging enough, and is sure to appeal to fans of this cool cat. I appreciated the message about learning to adapt, when our friends have their own ideas about the perfect snack (or activity, or anything else), show more and the artwork is as bright and colorful as ever. Unlike some of the more recent holiday-themed Pete the Cat books (which are smaller than these regular picture-books), this one didn't feel as much like coattail-riding. Recommended to fans of Pete the Cat. show less

So fun and colorful -- definitely hooks the reader! The rhyming text and positive vibes throughout are a plus. Pete and his friends throw a pizza party with some favorite, unexpected, and silly toppings. The vibrant illustrations help bring the story to life! It's such a fun read-aloud and really engages kids. We can always count on Pete the Cat to deliver a super fun, catchy story!
I will always be a big pete the cat fan, but I appreciate the alliteration and rhythm that alwasy comes with these books. The repitition is especially helpful for young learners. This practice is critical, and I will always want a pete the cat book near me in the classroom!
Pete the Cat explaining that just because you like something different is ok is always a fan favorite at our house. My son loves reading it to me and talking about how our pizza toppings are different, but that is ok.

A groovy story about a cat and his friends at a pizza party. Everyone is unique and so are their toppings choices. Is there such thing as a perfect pizza?
