"The Rainy Day Toddler Activity Book: 100+ Fun Early Learning Activities for Inside Play" keeps grey skies out and lets the sunshine in. Author KRISSY BONNING-GOULD has created a big, colorful book of fun, skill-building activities designed to keep little hands and minds occupied in a pleasantly productive manner. The age categories are broken down into three groups:12 to 18 months (rapid physical growth); 18 to 24 months (social and play skills expand); and 24 to 36 months (cognitive skills begin to shine). The author advises "Safety First!"--activities are designed for you and your toddler--always supervise during play. Here are some helpful hints: Being inside doesn't have to mean less fin!; Use what you have.; Keep the essentials handy.; Think outside the same old spot.; Prep when you can.; Consider your toddler's attention span and your time.; Let the activities inspire you, not limit you!; When all else fails, follow your toddler's lead.; Don't try to do it all.; Every little bit counts!; More friends equal more fun. Some of my favorite ideas found here include: "Wild Hair, Don't Care!"; "Magical Starry Sky"; "Postcard Delivery"; "Make Tour Own Movie Theater"; "Farm Animal Roundup"; "Beach Ball Bowling"; "Hello! Goodbye!"; and "Grow and Style Fairy Hair". If playing indoors had been this much fun when I was a kid, I just might have wished for more rainy days!
