This book was cute and funny. I like how in Emily Elizabeth's dream Clifford kept changing colors and she was glad to see him just the way he was when she woke up. I would be careful about reading it to a class just because it does talk about Easter. However, if you are in a school that all celebrates Easter, you could have an Easter egg hunt around the school, or have your students share what their family does on Easter.
Clifford the big red dog tries to participate in dying Easter eggs, but they end up breaking since he is so big. Instead he watches as Emily Elizabeth colors baskets full for the big egg hunt. The book continues into the world of dreamland as Emily Elizabeth dreams of dying Easter eggs, but then Clifford falls in and starts changing colors right before her eyes. Stripes and checkerboard patterns cover Clifford with bright colors. Great for classrooms looking into mixing primary colors and finding out what happens next.
Great story for the Easter egg hunter as well as Clifford fans.

Clifford wanted to help Emily Elizabeth paint the eggs for Easter. But poor Clifford was not good at painting eggs. He decided to watch instead since he was really good at that. The night Emily had a dream that Clifford was stirring a big bucket of dye and fell in. When he came out he was green! Then he began changing colors and had different patterns. Emily woke up and ran straight to Clifford to make sure he was still red and he was. Being that I was Easter it was time for the Easter egg hunt. Clifford did a great job at finding all the eggs! This is a book that I would display in a classroom around Easter time.
This is a great narrative picture book to read around Easter time. It is all about Clifford and the things that happen to him in Emily Elizabeth's dream about easter!

Audio version so I am not seeing the colorful pictures.

Her dream of dyeing the eggs, Clifford was helping and splash he was all green, then he was all yellow, Emily decorated him with other colors.
Sun woke her up on Easter morning and went to hunt for the eggs...
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

I got this in my Easter basket one year and absolutely loved it!
Emily Elizabeth decorates eggs and then dreams of Clifford being dyed too. When she wakes up she goes Easter egg hunting with Clifford and all her friends. They all share the eggs at the end.
