What happened to Search & Rescue volunteer Wes Dulany? That's the question on everyone's mind this fall in the small town of Christmas River, Oregon. And it's especially on the mind of pie baker extraordinaire Cinnamon Peters, who returns home after spending the summer working in Portland to find that one of the town's most beloved citizens has gone missing while looking for legendary treasure in the Christmas River National Forest. But when Cinnamon and her husband Sheriff Daniel Brightman come across a small piece of the legendary treasure in town, and become a target of violence shortly after, it's clear that Wes Dulany's disappearance isn't nearly as cut and dry as it seems. There are a lot of characters in this one.

The Story:
This was another excellent edition in the series. I was really on the edge of my seat regarding the mystery. I couldn’t call the twists at all. This is the last audiobook that has been produced and IDK if I can go on without Randye Kaye. ( )

Cinnamon is home after a summer of working away in Portland. Daniel’s friend Wes and his wife are off hiking in the mountains, looking for a treasure that was supposedly lost decades before. When they go missing, search and rescue as well as Daniel and Cinnamon help search. The wife is found badly injured, but there is no trace of Wes. It’s an exciting tale, one that will keep readers interested. The author is very good at writing interesting characters, and showing growth and change within the series. ( )
