They say the fae used to take the most beautiful maidens and make them their brides. They lied.
What they do with them is much worse.

After the seven lords of Sidhe are massacred in one day, the thrones of the fae realm pass down to their heirs. The Iron Circle remains leaderless, as its true lord lives in another world.
The nobles of the realm will find the heir, and they will destroy him.
 Or her.

West, in the Silver Circle, a new lord has taken the throne.
A warrior who never hesitates to crush ants for the good of the world. A man whose rule will change the fate of their realms.

Melpomene has never known where she came from, and after centuries, she's stopped caring.
Until the fae take her, dragging her to a land where bloodlines and power is everything.
To survive, she needs to embrace the monster buried inside.

Really enjoyed this one the finale for this felt a tad rushed but all else I thought was fab.
It was imaginative with great world building and really set the stage ready for this series future growth.
Its told in dual POV Mel (Melpomene) and Caim both seemed really well-developed characters with interesting personas.
Mel herself is supposedly a muse with a muddy pedigree descended down from immortal gods.
Caim is an Unseelie who has managed to acquire the silver throne.
When these two immortal destinies cross there paths become entangled.
So this is very much slow burn in regards to our central pair and any romance this really does concentrate on selling you this world and its story.
This is also a totally unique take on the whole fae concept with spaceships and Tartarus I really did love this and it made this just so distinct and original.
Adored the wicked dispositions and cruel intentions of those in this land of monsters and I am ever so interested in seeing where this series is going next as this really did manage to grasp my attention.
Lastly, we get some long-awaited action and a small cliffhanger of a finale and as I said earlier the finish for me did feel a tad abrupt and rushed and I also would have liked some prior build up to the long-awaited action as it just seemed to come out of nowhere.
Only small niggles and as I have said all else I adored.
I will most certainly be reading the next in this series how could I not.
This was one I really enjoyed a thumbs up from my corner.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of King of Ruin.
