This is a GREAT way to deal with being the middle child. There are benefits as well as disadvantages. I really liked this!! ( )

Author/illustrator team Anika and Christopher Denise address the subject of middle children in this sweet new picture-book. The text describes both the pleasures and challenges of being neither the oldest nor the youngest, concluding with the idea that being in the middle does mean one is loved from all sides...

Featuring a simple but heartwarming narrative and adorable bunny illustrations, Bunny in the Middle is the ideal reassurance tale for middle siblings who might sometimes feel ignored or undervalued. I have enjoyed other books by both author and illustrator here, so I was happy to pick up this new joint venture, apparently inspired by the Denises' own middle child. Recommended to all young middle siblings. ( )

Book description
When you’re in the middle . . . you’re not the oldest, and you’re not the youngest. You are right in between. There’s someone bigger who helps you and someone smaller who needs you. From the middle, you can see both sides.

But being in the middle isn’t always easy—sometimes it’s hard to know what makes you special, or how to follow a path that’s just your own.
