I don't think Willy was accidentally lucky - I think Browne meant us to understand that he was clever. A message of brains over brawn, and maybe also one about the meek shall inherit....

Surreal touches mean the art is more akin to fine art than simple illustrations, and make for a book more complex, and more fun, than the usual renditions of these themes.
This story tackles bullying through a young monkey named Willy who is a very small monkey. His other friends are bigger gorillas. One day this big bully gorilla approaches them and the gorillas get scared anf run away. Willy is left alone with the bully. The bully swings at Willy and he ducks but as he comes up he hits the bully in the chin with his head. The bully is defeated by Willy and he along with his friends celebrate. This book is great to use when teaching kids about bullying and standing up for themselves.

Willy parecía no ser bueno para nada. Le gustaba leer... y oír música... y caminar por el parque con su amiga Millie. Willy no era bueno para el fútbol... Pero se esforzaba.
