In New York Times bestselling author Ruth Cardello's sexy and emotional romance, a billionaire dares to invest in the riskiest proposition of his life: a second chance at love. Single mom Heather Ellis would do anything for her adopted daughter, Ava. Even post an online reward for anyone who found the girl's lost stuffed animal. Who'd have guessed it'd be returned by a drop-dead-sexy man with such sadness in his eyes that she had to reach out to him? To Ava, he's a hero. To Heather, he's a fantasy that puts at risk the happy life she's made for herself. It's been five years since billionaire developer Sebastian Romano lost his wife and unborn child in a tragic accident. Now he's all business. No room for emotion. Until he stumbles across that damn stuffed wolf and the beautiful single mother looking for it. Is he ready to give love a second chance? But there's more to Sebastian, his family, and his past than Heather knows. More than even Sebastian knows. Will the life they're building together be challenged when the truth is finally revealed?… (more)

This wasn’t bad. I think I had picked up a book by this author before that I didn’t finish. But I was too intrigued by the summary of this book to pass this up. And I’m glad I didn’t. In this, we meet Heather and her precious little 4 year old adopted daughter Ava. Ava has lost her beloved stuffed animal Wolfie. Heather goes so far as to put out a social media announcement about the lost toy. The toy is found by widower Sebastian who is suffering on the 5th anniversary of the death of his wife and unborn child. He almost throws Wolfie away but his mother manages to convince him to return it in person. He does and he and Heather are instantly attracted to each other. But it’s not that easy for them. No. They both play the push and pull game for most of the book. They both have so many issues and so much baggage. Sebastian fears he can never be the man he used to be. Heather has abandonment issues and tends to cut someone off at a first mistake before they have the chance to leave her. But both learn to be better for the other. This is a pretty sweet and sometimes funny little romance that I ended up enjoying. I guess the other books in the series will be his brothers also finding love and I can’t wait to see who they end up with. ( )

I have to admit, I have mixed feelings about this book. I was very intrigued with the first chapter of the book and then very confused when it switched characters. I thought the book was going to be about Judy only it wasn't. I couldn't figure out who the characters were or how the story tied together. That left me a little frustrated. Especially, as neither were a Corisi which I had assumed would be what this series was about.

The story between Heather and Sebastian was cute. It felt rushed at times and I wanted it fleshed out more on their growth but I can see potential in this series. ( )
