Wendy Corsi Staub wrote the book College Life 101 Cameron: The Sorority. This book is about Cameron who is going to South Florida State College. Cameron desperately wants to pledge a sorority so she goes to school early for rush week. Cameron’s mom is white, and her dad is African American, and this interracial marriage begins to be an issue for some of the girls in the sororities. Cameron must decide whether she will join a sorority after she hears some racial slurs. Eventually, she decides she can’t let some obnoxious girls take away her chance to join the sorority of her dreams.
The cover design of this book is black, pink, and lime green. The front cover has a girl in a tank top and a pink skirt. The girl appears to be a fun-loving college student. I don’t think the cover is appealing because the girl’s stomach is showing and the hues of her skin are different colors. The cover gives the impression that it isn’t a very serious or deep book. ( )
