Had a go at this one the last couple of nights, and both times I ended up captured pretty quickly. This is a fun book, Jackson knows his way around classic horror tropes and his books are always very well written. This one will need to be mapped if you want to complete it.
Despite being more horror than fantasy, this was one of my favourite of the series. I have always loved the idea of immense haunted houses filled with strange worshippers. Indeed, I was even intending to run a roleplaying game based on it (tabletop) and started mapping it - and I shall have to say - this house is massive!

Definitely on the "must re-read" list!
Thought it was just an ordinary book at first and I did not think twice about reading it at night. Little did I know that while trying to find my way out of the house of hell, figuratively speaking, I would actually felt fear..worried of what horror I might encountered at each turn, or in each room. Some imagination I must have huh..

My first ever fantasy gamebook back in my schooldays, but far from being the last. I've played quite a number of fantasy gamebooks since then, thanks a lot to public libraries having such books on their shelves. Though I must say I dont' actually follow the rules by the book =P, I don't use dice/paper, I just assumed I always win in fights, and I was always lucky...haha..just wanted to get the hell out of show more that house asap I guess =P! show less
