This is a beautiful book. It looks like a kid book, and children can enjoy it too, but I think its aimed more towards mothers. It’s a sweet book coming from a mother’s perspective of seeing her child growing up and the things she wishes for her child. It could be used in the classroom to demonstrate love but is better suited for the home. Although I’m not a mother, this book brought tears to my eyes.
I really enjoyed this. I see a lot of different opinions of it and perhaps as an older mother I am aware more than I might be that the odds say I have less somedays ahead of me.

It somewhat reminds me of Goose by Molly Bang.
39 months - I am not a fan of this type book. This is a book aimed at sentimental parents not at children. Parents will get all weepy and rate this highly while their small children will wonder what all the fuss is about (until they are parents themselves). That said I always love Peter Reynolds illustrations.
Someday conveys what a mother wants for her child in such a simple and loving way. It shows that every mother's dream is to see her child live his or her life to the fullest. Peter H. Reynolds illustrates the story using simple drawings and colors which does not overpower the message of the story.
Someday is a book that expresses a mother’s love and dreams for her child. A mother speaks to her young daughter throughout the book, recalling her infancy through her future of adulthood. With the help of great watercolor pictures, the story brings to life the storyteller and daughter sharing together everyday moments which mark many important milestones in the girl’s life. The book opening, “One day I counted your fingers and kissed each one," grabs the reader and takes you on a quietly emotional, yet fact of life, journey. The ideas expressed are joys as well as sorrows that every mother will face during her daughter’s attainment of goals and heartache along the way.
This is a book that every Mother will treasure. Reading it show more will likely bring tears to her eyes, and at the same time create a special moment with her daughter! Reviewed by Erin, Three Rivers Public Library show less
This is a sweet, simple book that is told from a mother's point of view as she speaks to her child. It begins when the mother is counting the baby's fingers and the mother tells the child all of the milestones that will occur in her lifetime. While I love the book, it is really for mothers and not so much for children or babies.
½
Not thrilled with this one. Perhaps a nice gift for a mother with her own grandchildren, not so much for a child whose life may unfold in many different ways (not necessarily as this book prescribes).
