Cornish Cream Tea with a dollop of death on the side. When a body is found in her sister's bakery, Morgana rushes to Ellie's aid. She's supposed to have 'abilities' to see more than most, but she's suppressed them for years. However, if she wants to help Ellie, then it's time to dust off her pointy hat and get back on that metaphorical broomstick. With her brother-in-law in custody, her wicked twin back in town, not to mention a smoking hot chef raising her temperature, Morgana has more than enough to distract her. Can she hone her skills again in time to find the real murderer?… (more)

Maybe cozy mysteries just aren’t my thing, but I found this read to be rather boring. I had the killer figured out near the beginning of the book. I think this book would probably be enjoyed by those who like this genre, and I won’t take anything away from the writing, but I just couldn’t get into it. It wasn’t a terrible book, I just think it wasn’t a book to suit my personal tastes. ( )

Body at the Bakery (A Cornish Witch Mystery Book 1) by Stella Berry

A body is found in the freezer of Morgana's Sister (Ellie) Bakery. Morgana wants to help, she is not an ordinary woman, she is a Witch. It is not long before her sisters husband is accused of the murder, and it is up to Morgana to find the real killer. To complicate matters Morgana's wicked twin sister comes to town to add mayhem to the already complicated situation.

A fast paced story with an interesting plot. The Sisters are likable, each with their own magical personalities. The mystery to solve has some twists, easy to follow and a likable handsome Police Chief. I found Body at the Bakery an enjoyable read, and feel those who like a cozy mystery (with Witches) will enjoy it as well. ( )
