I enjoyed dome to outside children's/young adult fiction ever since reading The Dream Catcher by Monica Hughes. This book, Out There by Adrien Stoutenburg, has good characterisation. The rich lived under domed New City, while the poor lived outside of it in Old City. Auntie Zeb and five children set out on an expedition to see if there were any wild creatures left after all of the wars and environmental devastation.
