When an old village post office is demolished, workers discover a collection of undelivered letters that set off a chain of events with global ramifications. This book is a thriller, but I didn't find it very thrilling, and it felt like the author didn't trust the reader to follow the plot, he made sure to have everyone explain what was happening and what it meant. The intriguing premise got me through most of the book, but I ended up throwing in the towel when I realized I was in the climax and it still felt like a chore to read it. Made it through 90% of the book, but did not finish.

This was a good story about a supposedly Monuments Mans (WWII) that ended up in Peru and then disappeared. Fifty years later a letter is sent to his brother and the big mystery is set up. It was a great read until the very last chapter ended as a sci/fi/fantasy--what a let down! 325 pages

I picked this audio version up on sale from chirp and it was wonderful! Great thriller adventure with twists and turns and an ending I really enjoyed. Suspense, great characters, and exciting plot kept me listening and loving every bit. Can't wait to catch the next Monument book!
Frustrating writing. Ending was.. blah.
