Good writing, but a little too neurotic to be relatable. If you have anxiety and are also embracing the utility of dysfunction over working toward healing, you may like this. Lots of false self-narrative that is recognized as bunk even by the author, but retained b/c it serves his end rather than learning a new and healthy modality. That sounds WAY more judgmental than intended -- I have no judgment; I just can't relate. I speed-read because I was not interested enough in wading through the wallows of his experience to push through in any other manner. ( )

Love this book! So relatable. Lots of feelings about work and depression and being 2nd gen. ( )

I loved this book despite recognizing so many of my own personal flaws/characteristics. ( )

This book is chiefly a memoir in which the author lays out his mental health issues and what he does to overcome them. For instance, write a book like this one to keep busy which takes time away from confronting a plethora of psychological problems. He is forcing us to read his attempts at self therapy. The author description in the book describes him as an architect, designer engineer, artist, (His art in the book is juvenile) playwright and comedy writer (Unbelievable). So, he is trying to drown out his personal insecurities through work and a machine gun approach to his life. ( )

Musings, rememberings, random thoughts, and a reminder to *Slow down, you move too fast. Got to make these moments last.*
Jonny takes the reader through anxiety, sadness, and several kinds of mourning in an introspective and thoughtful way. I'm that glad that he did the narration himself because that is usually the best, and he proved that belief. But when it comes out I will buy the print copy so I can see the hoped for drawings before I give it away to someone who needs it.
I requested and received a free temporary audio from Harper Audio via NetGalley. Thank you! ( )
